DESIGNING TOMORROW'S TOOLS FOR AGRICULTURAL KNOWLEDGE SHARING IN THE SAHEL

For more than 45 years international NGO SOS SAHEL has been working on agricultural development programs for the food and nutritional security of the Sahelian population. We strive to integrate digital technologies within our programs to strengthen and multiply our actions.

The SOS SAHEL Agri-Hackathon, to be organized for the first time in May, aims to promote the creation and development of innovative IT products and services which can offer uses and benefits to the populations of the Sahel.

WHAT IS #AGRI-HACKATHON?

It's a 3-day collaborative marathon to create innovative solutions on the theme: "Let’s connect the resources of Sahelian territories to maximize the Sahel’s potential!" .

The Agri-Hackathon will take place in May 2021.

CAN I APPLY?​

Yes, if you are a programmer, developer, engineer, database expert, designer and you fulfill the following conditions:

- 18 years of age or older before May, 2021 - African resident, with preference given to the Sahel

the candidates

Nine teams from Benin, Burkina Faso, Mali, Senegal and Niger will compete to try to win the prize for the best technological and innovative solution, adapted to the needs of the territories.

The team that designs the best solution will be offered a partnership with SOS SAHEL to develop and launch their product within Sahelian communities.

FAQ

To participate in the competition, you must be an engineer, developer or computer graphic designer aged 18 and over. You must reside in Africa and have your application selected by SOS SAHEL.

Participants selected will be notified by March 26, 2021 by email.

It is a collaborative work between your team (3 members), a representative of the Africa Camp working group and a moderator.

Yes, the prototypes developed will belong in full to SOS SAHEL.
