For more than 40 years, international NGO SOS SAHEL has worked on agricultural development to ensure food security and nutrition for people in the Sahel. SOS SAHEL seeks to enhance digital technologies that could strengthen and increase agricultural activities.

At the “Africa Camp” workshop held in Thiès, Senegal in January, actors from the agricultural world in West, Central and East Africa came together to brainstorm innovative solutions to access and share agricultural knowledge.


It's a 3-day collaborative marathon to create innovative agricultural knowledge sharing solutions with the creation of #Academies of Sahelian expertise and experience.

The Agri-Hackathon will take place in May 2021. The application to participate have to be submitted by 11.59 p.m GMT on December 31, 2020.


If you are a programmer, developer, engineer, database expert, designer and you fulfill the following conditions:

- 18 years of age or older before May, 2021 - African resident, with preference given to the Sahel

of traditional and academic sciences?

How to integrate knowledge in the piloting of the territories of the municipalities to support the decentralization in the Sahel?

How to disseminate information and knowledge useful for strengthening Sahelian agricultural value chains?

Within SPARK2050 and the Green Initiative, SOS SAHEL and its partner will examine the possibility of developing one or more solutions.

To participate in the competition, you must be an engineer, developer or computer graphic designer aged 18 and over. You must reside in Africa and have your application selected by SOS SAHEL.

Participants selected will be notified by February 1, 2021 by email.

It is a collaborative work between your team (3 members), a representative of the Africa Camp working group and a moderator.

Yes, the prototypes developed will belong in full to SOS SAHEL.
